I am Nic Harris. I am Black and non-binary. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a public health researcher. I am a community advocate and an essayist. I am descended from Black women from Leland, Mississippi who pursued liberty by leaving every situation that tried to reduce them. I write in the lineage of Toni Morrison, bell hooks, Assata Shakur, Brittney Cooper, and Melissa Harris-Perry — which is to say, from the inside, without apology, trusting you to keep up.
